According to the Denver Post, third-rounder Ronnie Hilman is already the second tailback behind Willis McGahee in the Denver Broncos depth chart.

This was definitely not something many people saw coming, but I always had confidence in Hillman. I wrote a scouting report on Hillman in the middle of February, and I hit the nail on the head with it.

Here are just a few quick experts from the scouting report: I said Hillman should be drafted in the Middle/late 3^rd or start of the 4^th, because his production cant be a fluke, this guy is raw but has great potential! (It seems as though the Broncos agreed with me on that one.) Then I compared him to Darren Sproles, and what do you know, John Elway made the same comparison (according to Rotowire.com).

As you will see in the scouting report, I really like Hillman. I even said that if given the opportunity, he can definitely put up some great receiving numbers despite not having amazing receiving totals at San Diego State University. Marc Sessler of NFL.com reported that Hillmans ability to catch passes out of the backfield was a major reason why the Broncos traded up to draft him. (So, I was right on that one as well.)

Nonetheless, it is very impressive that Hillman has already beat out Knowshon Moreno and Lance Ball so quickly. I knew Hillman had talent, and Im glad the Broncos agree with me.

If the reports are true, Hillman could have a significant role in the Broncos game plan. Also, I can imagine that Peyton Manning is very excited of having not only a good running back, but a good receiver as well.

San Francisco 49ers rookie linebacker Darius Fleming, a fifth-round pickin this year’s draft out of Notre Dame, suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during his first minicamp practice, and will almost certainly be out for the entire 2012 season.It wasinitially thought tobe a hamstring issue, but an MRI confirmed theACL tear suffered during a non-contact drill. Flemingsigned a four-year, $2.264 million deal with the team just one day prior to suffering the injury, and was likely to be given the opportunity to earn a role as a backup as a rookie.

Fleming started 36 games during his career at Notre Dame, including all 26 over his final two seasons, but did not produce at a high levelwith career-highs of 55 tackles as a senior in 2011 and six sacks as a junior in 2010. Heplayed both inside and outside in college and was considereda “tweener” heading into the draft,but his versatility should allow him to earn a roster spot when he is healthy again. Fleming may ultimately fit best as a situational pass rusher andspecial teams contributorat the NFL level.
